Find The Gap

If procurement transformation goes wrong, it often falls in a gap somewhere between an agreed strategy and tactical execution. Between recommendation and reality. Between advice and delivery.

When we launched EcoVate a decade ago after years on the frontline of procurement delivery, it was because we believed that a new type of consultancy could bridge that gap.

Traditionally procurement consultancies tend to fall into one of two camps.

First, high level strategy. The type of consultancy that advises on what should be done. Then hands over a slide deck and leaves.

Second, capacity provision. The type of consultancy that takes that strategy and puts arms and legs towards delivering it, whether they think it makes sense or not.

I believe strongly that this makes no sense whatsoever. And, crucially, it doesn’t serve the interests of the end client.

This is because it creates a disconnect. It creates the gap.

That gap, we knew when we launched EcoVate, is all too often where value dies. And it’s what, a decade later, still makes EcoVate different and drives value for our partners.

A consultancy with the experience and skills to develop a strategy that works. Obsessed with the little details that will compound over time to make a huge difference over the lifespan of a contract. And with the hands-on capacity and skills to deliver, end to end.

It sounds simple. But the best ideas usually do.

We found our gap, and, ten years on, we continue to fill it.
